InventureX: The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly

It’s hard to believe that 2019 is almost halfway over. It’s been an incredible year for us and we’ve been able to connect with and help so many entrepreneurs utilize and harness the power of crowdfunding and make their dreams become realities.

In this post, we’ll be showcasing some of the wins as well as the challenges we’ve experienced this year as a growing company.

We’ve been successful attracting amazing partners, talented and committed team members, and savvy backers to support the crowdfunding campaigns we’ve helped our clients launch on a variety of the most popular crowdfunding platforms.

As with all growing businesses, we’ve definitely experienced some challenges along the way as well so that’s why this post as been titled appropriately: “InventureX: The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly“, where we get to share it all – uncensored!

The Good

Partnering with Kevin Harington (original Shark from the TV show Shark Tank) was definitely a highlight of 2019 for us as we’ve learned so much from his experience helping aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners, which has allowed us to better serve our clients at InventureX.

Only a few months prior to working with Kevin Harington when Kevin O’Leary (Mr. Wonderful from Shark Tank) shared his thoughts about our work at InventureX and congratulated our VP of marketing Mark Campbell on his success with InventureX helping over 50 entrepreneurs crowdfund their products and ideas in 2018.

One of the biggest accomplishments was seeing StudioX grow where we’ve been able to make client campaigns come to life through the use of video and our creative team bringing the marketing for crowdfunding campaigns to the next level. Check out the official press release announcing the launch of StudioX to learn more.

The Bad

Bad comments about InventureX often center around our idea review process. It is widely known that InventureX is very selective when choosing which ideas to partner with. For example, in May alone InventureX received hundreds of new applications and idea submissions from entrepreneurs and inventors from around the world.

Out of those hundreds of applications InventureX only made deals to partner with about a dozen. That’s less than 5%!

With a 95% rejection process it is understandable that you will make some people unhappy. We’ve seen a few comments online saying we unfairly turned them away.

Here’s just a few bad comments we have seen:

“InventureX reviews a lot of ideas so it really feels like you’re on Shark Tank sometimes. Don’t apply with them unless you’re ready to crowdfund or else you may not get chosen and could miss out.”

“…instead of the inventurex specialists answering my questions, they asked me a load of questions instead! They wanted to know everything about my product (which i was not comfortable sharing) and about how much i invested in it and my reasons for crowdfunding and how much i was willing to spend.”

“GLAD IT WORKING FOR SOME PEOPLE BUT DIDNT WORK FOR ME… MY IDEA CAN RAISE MILLIONS MAYBE MORE… BUT I GUESS INVENTURE X DIDNT SEE THE POTENTIAL… OH WELL I WILL FIND SOMEONE WHO GETS IT AND IS WILLING TO INVEST.. YOUR LOSS X!!”

The Ugly

When discussing the good, the bad, and the ugly we feel that it’s important to include actual negative reviews from past clients. Below are some real complaints we have seen posted online via blogs and other review websites.

Some of these reviews have since been removed or are no longer available online. However, we wanted to repost some of them our own blog to discuss them more and show our potential clients the good, the bad, and the “ugly”.

Below you can read real negative reviews from our past clients:

Complaint #1 – Clients want to work with us in person rather than over the phone or computer.

Complaint #2 – Communication Issues With InventureX.

Complaint #3 – Missed Deadlines.

Conclusions:

Crowdfunding is just like launching any new venture – it’s a risky undertaking and there are no guarantees. Therefore it is very hard to please all people, all the time. We hope that these real complaints from past clients give our potential clients a better idea of the positive and negative viewpoints from past customers.

We feel it’s important to see both viewpoints and to make up your own conclusions when choosing the right crowdfunding company to work with.

StudioX: Shaping Your Crowdfunding Campaign With Creativity

InventureX is a recognized leader in the crowdfunding industry, helping an industry-leading 86 percent of their clients successfully secure capital to launch their idea on platforms such as Kickstarter and IndieGoGo. This is something we’re really proud of.

Part of our strategy has always been to create engaging videos clients can use to share their stories and demonstrate their ideas to potential contributors, and that aspect of the company is about to take a major step forward.

StudioX is a brand new content creation studio supported by our team based in Las Vegas, Nevada fully equipped to bring any client’s vision to life.

More details can be found here: https://inventurex.com/studiox

Here is some of what the InventureX team will now be capable of:

1. Work With Clients On How To Bring Their Idea To Life

You need potential backers to understand who you are and what you are all about if you want them to give you money, and research consistently shows that explaining it through a video is more effective than the written word alone. The experts at StudioX will be able to storyboard with you to design a pitch that will really resonate with your target audience.

Once the basic plans are done, StudioX can build an entire concept around your idea to make sure that it really hits home. An entire creative team will be available to come up with ideas you never would have thought of on your own. The entire package is brought to you for approval and feedback, and they’ll keep editing it until you are satisfied with the results.

2. Establish A Clear Voice

One of the most important aspects of marketing is maintaining a consistent brand voice across all of your advertisements and social media channels. StudioX will collaborate with videographers and other crew members to ensure that your video’s branding is on point, ensuring that potential customers don’t get confused.

3. Shoot The Content

Some entrepreneurs think they can get by with a cheap camera and minimal editing, but the truth is that your production values will dictate whether your video resonates or is quickly forgotten. StudioX has all of the technology needed to produce a high-quality video, giving you the production values you need to stand out in a crowded internet.

If the video is shot on location, StudioX will travel to the set in order to supervise the process. Members of the StudioX team will also communicate with the talent on set to ensure that the original vision is brought to life. If necessary, the client will also be notified of any challenges or delays in the shooting process.

4. Document The Process

You or your company will receive notes on every deliverable as soon as they are available, ensuring that you always know what’s happening with your video. When the final product is finished, StudioX will assist account managers in successfully delivering it to you.

Most importantly, all of StudioX’s services will be completely integrated with those of InventureX. This means that experienced crowdfunding veterans will help you pick the best way to share your video with the world, whether that means pursuing shares on social media or using it to demonstrate the benefits of your product on a crowdfunding page.

In closing, we’re very excited about launching StudioX to compliment and support InventureX clients. Cheers!
